Pi-CNG & EV Eyes CNG Expansion Along AKK Corridor

The Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas and Electric Vehicles (Pi-CNG & EV) participated in the AKK Investment Forum in Minna, Niger State, as stakeholders explored investment opportunities around the 614-kilometre Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline.

The forum brought together government and industry stakeholders, including the Executive Vice President, Gas and New Energy of NNPC Limited, to discuss how the pipeline can stimulate investment, industrial development and greater utilisation of Nigeria's gas resources.

Speaking at the forum, Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago highlighted the state's readiness to harness gas for industrial development.

Pi-CNG & EV reaffirmed its commitment to working with the Niger State Government to expand CNG infrastructure along the AKK corridor, with particular focus on Suleja, Tafa, Diko and Bida.

Beyond gas transportation, the AKK Pipeline presents opportunities for the development of CNG refuelling infrastructure, cleaner and more affordable transportation, new investments and job creation along the corridor.

Pi-CNG & EV said it would continue working with government and private-sector partners to ensure that the opportunities created by the pipeline translate into tangible economic benefits for Nigerians.
